Day 1 - Delhi – Ranthambore
Your gap year trip begins with a train ride to Ranthambore National Park. The park is a huge area of wild jungle scrub dotted with crumbling temples and lakes - once a hunting reserve for maharajas; now a conservation region and still home to the majestic Bengal Tiger.

Day 2 - Ranthambore
After a relaxing morning and lunch you will take your first safari. You travel in an 18 seater open safari vehicle and have the whole afternoon for wildlife sightings.

Day 3 - Ranthambore
Today you will have an early morning and an evening game drive by canter in search of tigers in the National Park. The middle of the day is free to relax by the pool.

Day 4 - Ranthambore – Jaipur
This morning take a train to Jaipur. The afternoon is free to explore as you wish, there are many colourful bazaars selling local handicrafts.

Day 5 - Jaipur Visit the Amber fort just outside the city, where you will take an elephant ride before exploring this fine example of Rajput architecture. In the Old City you will see the impressive city palace complex which gives this city its name of “the pink city”. Stop for photos at the Hawa Mahal one of Jaipur’s major landmarks. This evening perhaps check out a Bollywood showing.

Day 6 - Jaipur - Agra
Travel by train to Agra. In the afternoon you will visit the Agra Fort - known as the Red Fort as it is made from red sandstone. The fort walls contain a maze of buildings that form a city within. See the splendid and ornate Taj Mahal by sunset – the white marble takes on a rich golden sheen, turning pink, red and blue with the changing light.

Day 7 - Agra – Delhi
Your gap year journey ends with a train ride back to Delhi, arriving late morning .
