Day 1 - Delhi – Dharamshala (Overnight Bus)
Your gap year journey starts late afternoon today with an overnight bus journey from Delhi to McLeod Ganj.

Day 2 - Mc –Leodganj
You arrive and have the rest of the day to relax and explore as you wish. This town is a much loved travellers hang out and since 1960 has been home to the Tibetan Government in Exile and residence of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.

Day 3 - Mc –Leodganj
Today visit the Norbulingka institute, Kangra state museum, St. John’s church, the Dalai Lama’s temple. Post lunch visit Bhagsunag temple & water falls.

Day 4 - Mc –Leodganj – Amritsar (220 kms / Approx 6 hrs).
This morning you travel by bus to Amritsar. The rest of the day is at leisure to relax and explore.

Day 5 - Amritsar Visit the beautiful Golden Temple, the most important holy pilgrimage site in the world for Sikhs and a must-see on your gap year in India. Also visit Jalianwalan Bagh and Ranit Singh Panorama. This afternoon take a drive to the border point between India and Pakistan to witness the daily closing of the border ceremony. You may have seen this spectacle on the Michael Palin series of Himalaya – if not we suggest you watch it first to whet your appetite for this extraordinary show of almost comical pageantry.

Day 6 - Amritsar – Delhi (Golden Temple Mail – 2125/0655 hrs)
Today is at leisure. Then you board your overnight train to Delhi in the evening.

Day 7 - New Delhi
