Day 1 - Delhi to Manali
Begin your travel in India by boarding a super deluxe bus for an overnight journey from Delhi to Manali (departs at 1800 hours). Manali means home of Manu, who was in Hindu legend the equivalent of Noah; thus Manali is a very sacred place and a place of pilgrimage.

Day 2 - Manali
You bus arrives Manali (0700 hours). Upon arrival you will be met and taken to your guest house. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore this charming hill station. Visit the Tibetan monastery with its coloured frescos and statue of Buddah and Hadimba Temple; a four story wooden structure located in the forest.
Overnight: Guest House - Altitude 2050m

Day 3 - Manali gap year India
Today is free in Manali. Gap year travellers will find that there is much to do here, with outdoor activities such as cycling, fishing, jeep safaris, paragliding, zorbing and rafting (additional cost).

Day 4 - Start Trek
Commence Himalayan trek from Manali to Dhundhi area. You will pass through villages and experience the rural life of this region. The trail leads uphill from Solang Valley through green meadows and forests of alder, pine and fir to the grazing pastures of Bhakarthatch. The dominating peak in this area is Deo Tibba (6001m).
Overnight: camp - 4-5 hours trekking - Altitude 2750m

Himalaya Trek Day 5 - Trek
Trek through Alpine areas to Bakarthatch with clear views of some high Himalayan peaks. The stream here is considered to be the source of the River Beas which flows through Manali town.
Overnight: camp - 4-6 hours trekking – Altitude 3300m

Day 6 - Trek
gap year India Trek to Beas Kund the source of the river Beas & back. The climb is steep towards the beautiful glaciated lake of Beas Kund. Admire the views of Hanuman Tibba, Friendship and other famous peaks of Manali.
Overnight: camp - 4-6 hours trekking – Altitude 3500m

Day 7 - Trek to Manali
Return to Manali via the Solang valley, retracing your steps on a gradual accent to Solang. From Solang trek on to Burua, Goshal, Shanag and back to Old Manali. The afternoon is free to enjoy Manali.
Overnight: Guest House

Day 8 - Manali
India gap year Day in Manali at leisure. This evening board the overnight super deluxe bus back to Delhi (1800 hours).

Day 9 - Arrive Delhi
Your gap year trip comes to an end as you arrive in Delhi in the morning (0700 hours).
