Zara Hennessy: Gap Year Images Well I have got back to Bangalore safe and sound!

Saturday was a very early start at work, we then went to pick up other volunteers and we were off on a little outing for the day! We visited a BOSCO centre around 100kms from the city. This centre houses 150 boys aged between 7-18 years old. The majority of these boys have been addicted to some kind of drugs. So they use this centre in the middle of nowhere to re-educate the boys through rehab and education. It is the most amazing thing you have ever seen. We were taken to a room and debated the future of how Dream a Dream and BOSCO and work together in the future. Then some bright spark decided it would be a good idea to go trekking up the nearby mountain!

Zara Hennessy: Gap Year Images Wednesday was another early start and Divya and I were off on another day trip to Annanya, which is a residential place for street children, which is around 1 hour from the city. We were given a guided tour, the pictures say it all, the mats the girls sleep on, the floor the boys sleep on, the hose pipe is the shower, the blue tents were the class rooms, and these children were all very happy!

Friday was a little normal really, morning meeting at work then we were all off out as it was Clives last night in Bangalore. So after much debating we decided to return to Tiaka where I went for my birthday, but the best bit was you pay 500rps about £6 and you can drink as much as you like! Not a good move to let 6 English people in! And we did drink! That brings me to today! This morning Lizzie and I attended a workshop on child sexual abuse then we have spent the rest of the afternoon in the internet cafe. So nothing exciting as yet had happened but put us together and you never know.
