Nathan Chilcott

Hi,
I’m Nathan, I’m 18 and from Kent. Having just completed my A-levels, I was desperate to get away, travel and explore a new country. India has always appealed to me; it’s intoxicatingly rich history, majestic landscapes and vibrant, dynamic colorful cities. GapGuru designed a perfect five month programme to suit all my interests and gain experience in my desired career, teaching.

Bye for now,
Nathan.

The big day, goodbye England, Namaste India!

So, the big day came and it was time for me to say my goodbyes and depart. I remember feeling both excited but equally nervous. After checking my back-pack about ten times I made my way to the airport for my long journey to India.

Arriving at Heathrow was an experience in itself. I have never flown a long-haul flight before, so I was just wondering how I would feel being stuck on a plane for ten hours, waiting for the unknown. After saying goodbye and going through the check-in procedure I went through duty-free section with an array of different shops and cafes, so this helped me take my mind off of things.

I was not expected to arrive at my destination until the Saturday morning. I was just hoping that B.A were showing some good films, as I think I have read nearly every page in my travel guide for India.
