Summer holiday volunteer programme for teachers

This is an exciting summer holiday programme aimed specifically at teachers interested in volunteering and teaching abroad. We have specially designed the Travelling to Teach Summer Holiday Programme 2012 to allow teachers to use their skills to volunteer abroad and teach underprivileged children during the long summer break. We are looking for dedicated teachers who would like to use the opportunity to teach abroad and to change lives by teaching English, math, sciences, arts or drama.

After very successful programmes in the last 4 years, we have extended the programme to other selected schools in India, Nepal, Tanzania and Chile. We are now accepting applications from teachers who would like to join this volunteer teaching programme in summer 2012.

There are limited places on the programme and these will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, with selection interviews taking place regularly, so to avoid disappointment please apply early to teach abroad!

Who are we looking for?
The Travelling to Teach programme is open to all qualified teachers, English language teachers and those with an aptitude for drama, arts and crafts, music or sport. The children are keen to learn new skills and Travelling to Teach volunteers will learn huge amounts from them in return - this really is a once in a lifetime volunteering opportunity and one that could change lives.

What's involved?
Travelling to Teach 2008 - What’s involved? The Travelling to Teach programme works with a number of charity/community schools in India, Nepal, Tanzania and Chile which provide education to children from some of the poorest backgrounds and that really need help and support from volunteer teachers.

This is a three week long trip which will see selected volunteer teachers visit and work in a school in India, Nepal, Tanzania and Chile, educating the local children and working with the existing teaching staff. The aim of the volunteer programme is to provide interactive and interesting lessons to the children, bringing entertainment and education to their classes.
