ARUSHA– KILIMANJARO - ARUSHA
The permanently snow-capped Mt Kilimanjaro is Africa’s highest mountain reaching a lofty 5895m.
There is no technical climbing required to conquer this mighty peak, just a good level of fitness and
some exceptional determination. The views and sense of achievement as you reach the summit are not to
be missed on a gap year to Tanzania.
Is this journey right for me?
This is an intensive trek for any
gap year traveller, with walking of 6 hours per day and a gruelling 12 hours on summit day.
The rewards for your efforts are stupendous as you reach the summit of Africa’s highest peak making this a very special
achievement on your
gap year trip. You need to be physically fit, own good comfortable walking boots and enjoy the outdoors.
Altitude sickness may be experienced and makes the trek more challenging. Maximum altitude is 5895m.

What’s Included?
Accommodation: You will camp in two man tents.
Travel: You walk with your own day sack – porters carry your main luggage and camp provisions.
Food: A cook travels with you and prepares three good meals a day for you. Energy snacks and safe drinking water are also provided. Bring your own water bottle.
