Medical Placement in Pune

We are having an amazing time in this Specialty Hospital, where we have observed surgery on the spine, brain, heart, abdomen, ear, and more. We've spent days in wards with patients and doctors all of whom are willing to sacrifice precious time and effort in order to teach us what they know. The hospitality (excuse the pun) is superb, and I don't think we could be any happier with our project. Everyone wants to give so much, it's a good job we've got so much to learn! Outside of the project we have been to the buddhist caves at Ajanta and the Buddhist, Hindu and Jain caves at Ellora, which are breathtaking in their scale, ambition, and skill.

I was a little anxious about coming to Bangalore, as I was coming to work with HIV/AIDS patients, and had no real idea what to expect. I am glad to say that my time here has been incredible; I have been supported by the most wonderful host family, and the local rep, whilst my project has been a life-changing experience, not a term I use lightly. It has been tough at times, dealing with life as it is at the project and dealing with death also.
