Going to a new country can be a bit unnerving. But it’s a great experience when you have the basics taken care of. At GapGuru, we provide you with what we believe will make for a comfortable trip.

What’s included?

Country and project guidance – With so many gap year opportunities to choose from it can be a little overwhelming! Our team will tell you all you need to know about our destinations and projects, helping you to choose the right programme for you. If you are unsure of what you want to do or where you want to go, our experienced team will be there to guide you all the way.

Pre-departure briefing – Before you leave for your chosen destination, we will invite you to a pre-departure briefing, where we will give you information on what to wear, local customs and food, health and safety, budgeting and much more besides!

Guidance for processing visa – GapGuru will arrange for all the relevant documents and guide you through the visa process.

Airport pick-up – Arriving in an unfamiliar place and not knowing where to go and how to get there can be quite unsettling. A GapGuru representative will meet you at Siem Reap Airport on arrival and transfer you to your accommodation in Battambang. A return transfer to Siem Reap Airport can be provided at the end of your programme for an additional $40 if desired.

Accommodation & meals – We have a fantastic volunteer house in Battambang city. This house is available for up to 6 volunteers at any one point. Volunteers live together in this shared accommodation where breakfast and dinner are provided. Alternatively there are volunteer studios within a 5 minute walk of the house.

In-country support – Our local representatives will provide 24/7 support from arrival to departure. Whether you are feeling home sick, have a problem with your teaching placement or need local travel advice, they will be at hand to help you.
