Assist with children in this orphanage

This gap year volunteering project is an orphanage located in a small rural community in the central highlands in the middle of the "Avenue of the Volcanoes". It is less than 3 hours from the Capital city of Quito and only 30 minutes to Latacunga, Capital of the Cotopaxi province. You will be living in the orphanage and will take general care of the children


Your role: The home cares for a wide array of children – both boys and girls. These are children who were mistreated by their parents, children who used to work and live in the streets, children who were forced to live with their imprisoned parents, and children whose parents were simply unable to provide the basic necessities

Volunteers help with the children's daily activities around the home. There are many things to do especially during the afternoons when school is in session (Sept-June.) A typical day might include a bit of gardening, taking the kids to the doctor, buying supplies at the market, playing with the kids, helping with homework, reading and whatever else might need to be done.

You will be able to provide care and attention to those children, who desperately need. The orphanage placement is a full time job. The activities are diverse so it will feel like you are doing a million different jobs!
