It began in 1973 with one child and now at any point of time they have above 60-65 children. Children are coming from districts of West Bengal, and across North-Eastern Region of India as well as from Bangladesh. Children with orthopaedically handicapped are benefited from this organisation where trained therapists, medical experts, social workers and other personnel assist in making the best of their abilities.
Who They Are : They organisation is made up of medical experts that give their time and services to do the operations, physiotherapists to help the children begin to walk correctly, teachers in the school, experts in mobility aids to get the children up and about, that all come together to provide excellent care for children. They feel strongly about the children fully recovering and being able to make the best of their abilities.
What They Do :They provide comprehensive treatment and rehabilitation to children with orthopaedic disabilities. They provide everything in one campus so that the children, who come from poor families from across the state, complete their recovery in several months whilst staying at the centre. These children would not get the chance to live a normal life otherwise and the centre gives them the chance to be fit and healthy and able to learn and work in the future. They also run outreach campaigns in villages to inform people and encourage children to come to the centre for treatment.
