Teach At Schools For Slum Children
Help provide education to children from some of Bangalore's most deprived Families.
On your gap year, teach English, Maths and other subjects and activities such as sports, art or music in schools that are run especially for some of Bangalore's poorest children. schools are open, spacious and provide a bustling yet peaceful haven for the children. A far cry from their often difficult and disrupted home lives. The school facilities include outdoor play areas, a variety of arts and music equipment, dining rooms and communal halls for gym, assemblies and performances. They aim to give the children the best education and facilities available, as well as food, clothing, medical attention, and invaluable life skills.
Your role:
As a gap year volunteer you will work directly with the children providing one-to-one and small group tuition in core academic subjects such as English and Maths, and then pick up with extra curricular activities, projects and events that will maximize your individual talents, interests and flair- and allow you to truly make your mark on the children and school!
You will have a timetable designed personally for you which will divide your time between your various classes and activities, and provide you with the structure that allows you to make the best possible use of your time.
You will be encouraged to make the most of your personal strengths and interests towards organizing stimulating, fun and challenging activities for the children to add to the trips, summer camps, and visits that are currently aimed at opening the children's eyes to the wider world and its possibilities.
What you Gain:
This is a fantastic gap year opportunity for anyone who enjoys working with children. It is also an incredibly rewarding experience to be able to help provide quality education to some of the city's poorest children.

Testimonials:
“
Everyone is so polite and the children are such wonderful people. They are all so intelligent and try so hard that it is such a joy to be able to contribute to these children and help them make a proper start in life. The staff is so dedicated and having visited two of the schools in Bangalore I wish I was able to have been taught there. I have been so inspired that I hope to return and work with these sorts of underprivileged children in the future. Opportunity not to be missed!!
