About the Project: Combine a stay in the beautiful Indian state of Kerala with learning about all aspects of dentistry and what goes into running a private dental practice. This is a great opportunity to spend your gap year break working in a state of the art dental clinic in the state capital of
Cochin.
Your Role: As a Dental Practice Assistant you will have the opportunity
to gain experience in all aspects of the organization. If you are considering a career in Dentistry then you will not only get a chance to observe dental procedures but also to get involved in how the clinic runs and develops itself.
If you are a part qualified dental nurse or dentist then you will have the opportunity to assist with certain procedures.

Requirements: Volunteers must be committed and attend work Monday to Friday 8.30am to 6.30pm. There must be agreement to abide by the rules of the clinic and attitude to work should be exemplary.
What you need :
- To have a strong interest in dentistry.
- To assist in treatments you must be part qualified dental nurse or dentist.
- To bring energy, enthusiasm and motivation to work in this very professional environment.
- To communicate clearly and effectively with members of the team.
- Have patience and understanding that India is different to the UK.
Accommodation: Wherever possible you will stay in an Indian home or share an apartment with other Gap year volunteers. Home-stay hosts are carefully selected for quality and safety and you would normally share a non-air conditioned room.
