Delhi based sourcing agency that specializes in the supply of textiles, furniture, decorative accessories and fashion products to the international market. As an intern you will be working with a multi-national team to help design the next season’s must have items. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic company and not only use your creative skills but also gain experience of the retail chain from design of product to delivery in store.
Your Role: There are two roles defined currently:
Product Design & Development - Using your creative talents you will be given a specific project by the design team in developing the next season’s products for the markets.
Technical Design & Development - Using CAD skills you will be required to help with the development of products by translating the designs onto the computer to enable production plans to be made for the manufacturers.
Alongside these distinct roles the interns would be given opportunity to work in the other departments of the organisation.

This will give you an experience that cannot be achieved as a tourist and give you an additional insight into India and the differences between urban and rural ways of life.
Finally, retailing is a huge business sector worldwide. To have an understanding of the entire chain from design to production to shipping logistics to delivery in store will give you a thorough overview and a great advantage when applying for positions in relation to product design – all products have to be retailed and most products are now made in a foreign country.
Skills and Experience Required: This is an ideal project for students looking for work experience during or after their university degree or people with relevant work experience. A qualification is not essential if you can show through a portfolio your previous work.
- To be undertaking or completed a degree or diploma in Product Design, Fashion/Interior Design, Technical Design/Drawing
- Relevant experience in design – portfolio desirable
- Focused and independent and be able to produce a tangible design specification that can be used for clients.
- To bring energy, enthusiasm and motivation to work in a time pressured environment
- To communicate clearly and effectively with members of the team
- Have patience and understanding that India has a different culture than that of the UK
