Interested in a career in hotels or hospitality,
this is the placement for you!

About the Project: Gain valuable experience during your gap year in one of India's top luxury hotels. The chain of hotels, located in Kerala, provides an unparalleled ethos for community development, environmental awareness and the practice of Indian holistic therapies like Ayurveda. These hotels blend into their environment, giving to the local community and living side by side with nature.

Your Role:You will be working in the various different areas of the hotel as per the ebb and flow of guests. Provide restaurant service at breakfast, accompany the guest activities in the mid-morning, assist check-ins/outs at noon, do kitchen 'mise-en-place' (site preparation) for lunch in the afternoon and be part of the team which serves dinner. This gap year work placement also encourages you to participate in other areas of the hotel operations - for example community development projects related to the local environment or improving your hospitality skills through training.

What you gain: If you are interested in enhancing your CV or want to learn about the hospitality industry aboard, this is a top gap year project. Working alongside the local people has been the true experience for me out here. I've learned so much about myself and the people here, their way of life and culture. Having a completely different culture and view of life in comparison to the people here made things so much more interesting and fun.
