The Andes is the world’s longest mountain chain, offering an incredible experience for gap year travel. Ecuador is one of the best places to enjoy the snow-capped volcanoes, alpine valleys and expansive glaciers of these mountains, with Quito falling in the central valley between the eastern and western ranges. Our volunteer teaching projects in the Andes give you the chance to help poor mountain communities, while learning to understand their unique culture.
