I had the best day. I went on a day trip to Nandi Hills which is around
2 hours from the city. We went with an NGO which has children boarding
with them from Monday to Friday which are from the streets/slums; it is a
mixed school boys and girls age ranging from 4-16 years. So as you can
imagine the day was going to be eventful with 52 children and 15
adults!!! I got to work to find the office (9 other people) screeching
"Happy Birthday" to me at the top of their voices, which was great. I
got my cards and lots of sweets and then our journey began. Now in India
the motto is "always expect the unexpected" if you live by this then
its all good. So all 10 of us clambered into a mini van - I was sitting
in the boot! They then all broke into "Happy Birthday" at the top of
their voices! Finally after many traffic jams we arrived to pick up the
children and off we all went. We arrived and were given 3 children to be
responsible for. My girls were great. We walked around and they told me
the whole history of the temple. We then walked to the top and all 71
of us had our picnic lunch!!! We then sat around in the circle and
played games and sang songs. All in all, it was a fab day.

Tuesday I was so tired from my long day the day before so I just wanted
to chill at work but then Divya told me she was feeling ill and asked
me to go to the coffee shop with her. I of course said yes, as I walked
in the rest of the office was already there it was a surprise birthday
party for myself and our boss (his birthday was on Wednesday). They had
put balloons and banners up and we had the hugest cake ever that said
"Surprise Zara & Vishal". We then had a little tea party with
sandwiches and crisps and cake - all in all a fab morning!!!
