I had great experience the other weekend. The school had it's annual
day, where all the parents, students and teachers were invited to an
award-giving ceremony and then the students put on a show. Awards were
not just for good kids but also for good teachers and good parents. When
the two teachers went up to receive their awards one of them cried and
said "when the kids feel pain I feel pain", which was very touching.
Parikrma is a really inspiring charity.
The student show was a 'round the world' series
of sketches. Classes in each school had to act out different countries
around the world. Antarctica, for example, was played by one of the
classes at my school in Koramangala. They all dressed up in penguin
suits and did a synchronised dance. As you can expect, it was hilarious.
My favourite sketch was the USA one because I helped the two 'celebrity
hosts' at the front with their American accent and performance. On the
night there were a few technical problems and it was a little chaotic,
but that didn't matter. The kids had a really good time and everyone
seemed to enjoy themselves.
