No less than a week until I depart for
India! Now all my inoculations are complete, I can pursue crossing off
the final things on my packing list. I am beginning to feel more
excited, however I am still apprehensive of what to expect!
Constant reminders from the Nurse, friends and family ‘not to
drink the water’ & to ‘keep hydrated’ are just many of the top tips I
need to remember, as well as registering my Visa on 14 days upon
arrival in India!!! (See, I am remembering these things!)
I can’t deny that I am very nervous; the furthest I have ever
traveled on my own is to France! However, after attending the GapGuru
pre-departure meeting, whereby I was given information about my
home-stay and work placement I did feel much more reassured!
This weekend I got an e-mail from Hema, the GapGuru representative in Bangalore,
which will be my new home for the next four months. She was most
pleasant, and warming, explaining what will happen upon my arrival in
India and not to be nervous. I have also made contact with some
‘gappers’ currently in Bangalore and I am very much looking forward to putting names to faces!
I now shall spend the remainder of my days here in England saying
goodbye to everyone and just keep pestering the GapGuru office with my
last minute questions!!!
Next time I will be in Bangalore!!!
Namaste
