OK, I'm here, I'm tired, finding it hard to eat properly and not achieving anything. Welcome to india!
So, after that scary start, let's just say that I love this place!!
I've sorted myself out and have set budgets, timings and extravagancies
sensibly for a daily basis in
Bangalore.
The only trouble I'm having is at work. Me and Deepak were given the
responsibility of coming up with an incentive, so we set out some rules,
asked what's achievable and sensible, and have done some advertising.
The trouble is that we're not actually getting any more performance from
the people because we haven't pushed it as far as we need to. I know
that I really need to achieve something to justify my worth, so believe
me the motivation is there.
There have been a few interesting moments at work. I joined Anu's
training session, and had to give a 20 min talk about myself to a class
of new trainees, it was so much fun because the class really responded
and took interest. And when we handed out the vouchers for our prizes
everyone clapped and were amazed they'd won. Then there was Christmas
eve, me and Deepak had a secret-author message read out to us in front
of everyone and it was a bit embarrassing.
Just to counter a few nasty things said- I've found some good places
to eat (lot's of grilled chicken,) and I've got over my jet-lag
problems.
