Briony Labram : Gap Year Images Arrival in Mumbai felt so strange! I was so tired and scared, but so excited at the same time.
I was met at the airport and taken to the train station. The train journey was so scary but exciting; I was so sleepy but didn’t want to sleep. There was a guard who constantly shouted Chai, Coffee and I even heard him shout baked beans!
When I arrived at Pune station I really didn’t know what to expect but Suvarna (the Pune rep) was waiting for me. Suvarna is lovely she is so wonderful.

I see her most days as I work with Paddy who is staying with her. She is very friendly and warm and in fact her whole family are extremely warm people. I arrived on the Friday evening and on the Sunday I met Paddy and we went to a place called Sims where there was a theatre which Akanksha was using for an event called ‘Sunshine Around The World’. Despite the jet lag it was a really fun day and I got to meet every one at Akanksha and also many children. Sunshine Around the World was an event which the school where I am volunteering held. The children of the eight centre’s learnt about one of eight different countries and performed a dance and also a play from their chosen country. It was so exhausting however it was a perfect way for me to get stuck in and also meet everyone. It was an experience not to be forgott
