Gap year specialist: About GapGuru

About GapGuru

Gap Year with GapGuru, travel, teach English abroad with the perfect gap year programme.

Whatever gap year challenge you undertake – daring to go to new countries by yourself, working with local communities, taking up assignments that you have never done before, whatever dreams and aspirations drive you, GapGuru creates the perfect gap year programme for you.

We invest a great deal of time and effort in researching and identifying gap year projects. These projects are doing some amazing life changing work to benefit local communities. They are selected for the work they do and the opportunity they provide for volunteers like you to contribute on your gap year abroad.

We meet or chat with you to know what you are looking at from your gap year abroad. Accordingly, the destination and project that suit you are identified. The experiences add tremendously to your personal attributes and give a great amount of achievements to include on your CV. The gap year opportunities we offer vary – you could be doing voluntary work with children, community or youth groups, participate in conservation, in journalism or gain experience in the medical sector. You, might prefer paid work or training in Hotel Management for example. Maybe you fancy some time off lying on a beach in the beautiful Puerto Lopez in Ecuador or the adventure of trekking in the Himalayas, Kilimanjaro or the Andes or seek spiritual sanity in Buddhist temples.

TESTIMONIALS

I am really thankful to GapGuru who gave me chance to see the other side of the world. My entire perspective changed towards life has changed after my trip to India and especially after spending time with kids out there in Chennai...

Doing our bit for the environment with Climate Care

On your gap year abroad you are likely to travel, whether it be by plane, car or train. As you do so, CO2 is added into the atmosphere. CO2 is a greenhouse gas that is released when fossil fuels such as oil, gas and coal are burnt. GapGuru in partnership with ClimateCare, enables you to offset your flight emissions, caused by your gap year travel, by contributing to the funding of sustainable energy projects.

To offset the CO2 generated by your international flight say UK to India, will require a contribution of £17.25. Please do check with us for the contribution you need to make for your gap year destination and simply tell us if you would like us to help make your gap year carbon neutral.
